Ten of us for this walk, which was led by Peter. He leads two walks from Tarbena, but this is
our favourite.
It’s hard to know what to wear for our walks at this time of
year. Its often pretty cold at the
start, but we soon warm up when there is a little climbing or scrambling.
Jan
often carries her jacket more than she wears it
Our regular lunch spot is quite exposed, and can be either
too hot or too cold. We were lucky
today that the sun made an appearance just as we sat down to eat.
Whatever the weather the view is pretty impressive
The next part of the walk is along a very good road, making
it possible to admire the extensive views of the mountains and the coast around
Benidorm.
We even had a particularly good view of Sierra Helada, our
January walk from Albir to Benidorm.
This view shows just how many “ups and downs” there are.
Towards the end of the walk Peter suggested an “extension”,
which everyone was too polite to object to.
And to be fair the view made the extra effort well worth
while
As soon as we stop Sylvia always managed to find somewhere
comfortable to sit and rest
The
rest always seem to find something very important to natter about
Then a short walk back to the car park in Tarbena.........
-----and a well deserved drink at the bar just outside the
village
Monday 10 March 2014
Most of the group is on holiday next week, including Peter and
Pat. So we will be able to do one of our
favourite walks which are not so popular with the whole group. Next week will be Orba Castle from
Parcent. Meet at the car park opposite
the Farmacia at 10am
