Castells to
the arch is always a popular walk, despite the fact that Castells is a long
drive for many of the group. For us it
is less of a problem, we live closer than anyone else. The drive is about 20 minutes .
It’s always about three degrees colder at Castells than in
Parcent, and this week was no exception.
Despite jackets and jumpers the wind was quite biting.
A
good brisk walk, and a gradual climb, brought us to our banana stop at the
viewpoint
Because of
the cold the pace was quite fast, so we were all ready for a short break
It is quite
exposed at the view point, and there is not a lot of shelter from the wind
So it was
not long before we were off again, with David leading the pack
When we did
this walk in the past not everyone did the extension to the arch, but it was so
cold today that no one wanted to wait at the alternative lunch site
The arch is
pretty impressive, and there is a lot of space to have our picnic. But it was very cold, and we had a shorter
than normal break.
This
is a particularly attractive area, and today it was also very colourful
24 November 2014
Meet at the
main car park in Beniarbeig at 9.45, so
that we can drive to the start of the Segaria walk.
